05Aug So What Exactly Adware? Part 1
Adware, like spyware , is a major cause for concern regarding privacy because it usually includes code that tracks a user’s personal information and passes it on to third parties, without the user’s authorization or knowledge. This practice has prompted an outcry from computer security and privacy advocates, including the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC ). Adware programs are usually installed without the user actually knowing they are about to become a target of very well organized “attack” or unsolicited offers from Adware Companies. Adware offers appear in the form of Pop-ups and email SPAM based on information the Adware Company has secretly gathered from the computer, its user and the history on the Internet. Adware is labelled as legitimate software. How can you call it legitimate software if they hide themselves from the user, refuses to leave your system and keep all the system resources for themselves?
Adware isn’t the only way companies track your whereabouts and habits. Commercial software sometimes includes components that do a little more than their stated purpose. AdWare SpyWare Removal also includes a stealth feature to hide its presence. The spy software adware scan detects and eliminates hidden programs. Adware can be dropped to a computer from a webpage or during installation of free software that has a bundled adware package (for example several free peer-to-peer clients like Kazaa or Grokster are distributed with a bundled adware). So if you see unwanted popups when you are browsing the Internet or you spot some unusual activity while you are working with your computer, it is recommended to run an adware scanner.
Adware is usually bundled with freeware or shareware programs downloaded off the internet. Did you consider the reason that program was free when you downloaded it? Adware is considered a security risk and it is generally recommended that one not install adware. Adware will usually, like Spyware, install components on your computer that will send marketing information whenever you are online. Unlike Spyware, Adware contains a disclosure telling you that they will be using your information.

05Aug What exactly Spyware?
Spyware includes keyloggers, backdoor Trojans, password stealers, and botnet worms, which cause corporate data theft, financial loss and network damage. Protection from spyware is an integral feature of our integrated security solutions, and is detected in the same way as viruses, Trojans and worms. Spyware can sometimes infect your computer using security holes in the Windows Operating System, or by no actual actions of your own. Spyware Killer uses a new and different approach to Spyware. Spy Killer Software blocks the intrusion of these annoying spyware programs or hackers before they are allowed to access your PC and personal information.
Spyware and other potentially unwanted technologies exploit human behaviour and technological vulnerabilities, often to inflict harm for private gain. The end result of such destructive behaviour cannot help but erode consumer trust and confidence in the Internet as a medium for social and democratic participation and for the conduct of commerce. Spyware can also gather information about e-mail addresses, passwords, and credit card numbers which can potentially lead to fraud and identity theft. Spyware Doctor is advanced technology designed especially for people, not just experts. That is one reason why it won the People’s Choice Award in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

16Jul The Difference of Adware, Spyware and Anti-virus
Adware, spyware and computer virus share some similarities, one of which is that all three are major nuisances for computer users. Let’s
differentiate the three.
Spyware is software that does not intentionally harm your computer. What they do is that they create pathways wherein someone else aside
from the computer owner can communicate with the computer. Normally spywares record the various types of web sites you visit which are later used by web advertisers to allow them to send you unwanted emails and pop-ups.
This is why spyware are usually frowned upon and greatly avoided. They are more intrusive than adware. Spyware have their own separate executable programs which allow them to record your keystrokes, scan files on your hard disks and look at other applications that you use
including but not limited to chat programs, cookies and Web browser settings.
The spyware then will send the information that it had gathered to the spyware author. The agent will then use this information for advertising
and marketing purposes. They even sell the information to advertisers and other parties.
